Polestar will launch a series of new models in the coming years, with the most anticipated model, a sports car inspired by the concept 02, being the last to hit the market.
According to the Swedish electric vehicle brand, the sporty Polestar 6 will be delayed to prioritize the Polestar 7, and therefore it will not be presented as initially planned in 2026.
The news reported by “CarExpert” was confirmed to “Motor Authority” by a Polestar spokesperson. “The much-anticipated Polestar 6 will arrive later.”
Thus, the premium electric vehicle brand will maintain the previously revealed strategy of having a portfolio consisting of the Polestar 3 and 4, which will soon be bolstered by the Polestar 5. The Polestar 7 is expected to be added to the lineup in 2026, and only in 2027 will the sporty Polestar 6 arrive.
Based on the O2 prototype presented in March 2022, the production version of the Polestar 6 retains the retractable hard-top showcased by the prototype. It features an aluminum platform developed by the Swedish brand itself, an 800 V electrical architecture, and is powered by electric motors capable of delivering a maximum combined power of 884 hp and a maximum torque of 900 Nm.
According to Polestar, these figures allow the roadster to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 250 km/h.
Remember that the electric roadster was unveiled in August 2023 at “The Quail and Pebble Beach” in the USA, where it was announced that only 500 units would be produced, which, according to the Swedish brand, sold out within a week. Therefore, it is expected that the model will have a production quantity greater than initially planned.
