NASCAR is no stranger to stories of grit, determination, and redemption, but Corey LaJoie’s journey stands out as one of the most compelling. The 33-year-old third-generation racer, known for his resilience on and off the track, is embarking on a new chapter in 2025, with a part-time driving deal and a fresh opportunity to prove his worth at the Daytona 500.

From Spire’s No. 7 to RWR’s No. 01

LaJoie’s 2024 season was a rollercoaster, marked by a shocking mid-season dismissal from Spire Motorsports, where he had piloted the No. 7 Chevrolet for three seasons. However, the dismissal didn’t extinguish his competitive spirit. After finishing the season driving Rick Ware Racing’s No. 51, LaJoie is now set to pilot the rebranded No. 01 Ford Mustang, backed by DuraMAX and Take 5 Oil Change, for select races in 2025.

Explaining his move to No. 01, LaJoie shared, “It’s not just a number; it’s a statement. The value of a penny is 01, and my brand, Stacking Pennies, is about finding value in every small effort. This year, it’s about stacking up the results.”

The Daytona Challenge

As an open entry, LaJoie faces fierce competition to qualify for the Daytona 500, battling against NASCAR icons like Jimmie Johnson and Martin Truex Jr. Yet, his track record at Daytona speaks volumes. His impressive fourth-place finish in the 2024 Daytona 500 proved that even with limited resources, he has the skill to thrive on NASCAR’s grandest stage.

Racing in His Blood

LaJoie’s legacy is deeply rooted in motorsports. His grandfather, Don LaJoie, is a New England Auto Racing Hall of Famer, and his father, Randy LaJoie, captured back-to-back Xfinity Series titles in 1996 and 1997. From dominating the ARCA Menards Series with six wins to making his Cup Series debut in 2014, Corey LaJoie has fought tooth and nail to carve out his place in the NASCAR world.

Broadcasting Debut and Redemption Goals

In addition to his racing ambitions, LaJoie will take on a broadcasting role in 2025, adding another layer to his already multifaceted career. Balancing the pressures of qualifying for races and his new venture in broadcasting, LaJoie is determined to make his mark both on and off the track.

The Road Ahead

Rick Ware Racing team owner Rick Ware expressed confidence in LaJoie, calling him “a driver with heart, talent, and a never-give-up attitude.” With support from sponsors and a renewed focus, LaJoie sees 2025 as his chance for redemption. “I’ve been knocked down before, but I always get back up. Daytona is just the first step in showing everyone what I’m capable of,” LaJoie declared.

As the 2025 Daytona 500 looms, all eyes will be on Corey LaJoie. Whether he’s stacking pennies or chasing checkered flags, one thing is clear: LaJoie’s story is far from over.
