Carlos Sainz reveals his favorite memories from his time with Ferrari prior to the last season.

Carlos Sainz is determined to cherish every moment of his final year at Ferrari. The Spanish racer, aged 29, will be leaving Ferrari at the end of the 2024 season. The seven-time world champion is set to join Charles Leclerc as his teammate for the 2025 season. Before starting his farewell season, Sainz has reflected on his fondest memories with Ferrari and his achievements with the team.

The talented driver has shown remarkable consistency, achieving his first-ever Formula One victory at the 2022 British Grand Prix. He followed this up with another win at the Singapore GP, tactically outmaneuvering the Red Bull team. Sainz described this second victory as his initial successful operation with Ferrari, highlighting his strategic brilliance.

Sainz also expressed his gratitude for the close friends he used to bring to the paddock. He thanked the engineers and all the team members for the enjoyable times they shared. The emotional impact of his first lap in a Ferrari was also significant to him.

Overall, Sainz believes that his experience with Ferrari has contributed to his personal development and created lifelong memories. He emphasized that the working environment at Ferrari is unique and unlike any other team. Sainz also acknowledged the numerous accomplishments he has achieved with the team, noting the distinct atmosphere that Ferrari embodies.

As Sainz’s contract with Ferrari ends after the 2024 season, there will be a significant driver market. Alongside him, twelve other drivers will also see their contracts expire. This will create a competitive market for young talents, with many teams showing interest in recruiting the 29-year-old racer.

Potential teams that may consider signing Sainz include Mercedes, Red Bull, Stake, and Visa Cash App RB. Mercedes could be particularly interested due to Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari after the 2024 season, leaving a vacant seat that may require an experienced driver. Additionally, Sainz’s previous association with Red Bull during his early career may make them a possible option. The rumors linking Sainz to Audi have persisted since the German manufacturer announced their takeover of the Swiss outfit.

If Mercedes decides against pursuing Sainz, they may consider Alex Albon as a potential replacement for Hamilton. Williams could also be a potential destination for Sainz. Ultimately, Sainz’s opportunities will depend on his performance during the 2024 season and whether he can excel once again with Ferrari.
