Skoda Superb ganha versão híbrida plug-in

The fourth generation of the Skoda Superb will soon feature a version equipped with a plug-in hybrid engine, boasting an electric range of over 120 km.

After the estate version, it’s now the sedan’s turn to offer a plug-in hybrid solution, which combines a 1.5 TSI turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine with 150 hp and an electric motor, contributing to a total combined power of 204 hp and a maximum torque of 350 Nm. The power is transmitted to the front wheels through a six-speed DSG transmission.

Skoda has also revealed that the Superb iV uses a three-phase permanent magnet synchronous electric motor integrated into the transmission and separated from the internal combustion engine by a clutch. This motor can operate independently to move the vehicle or in conjunction with the gasoline engine and is powered by a 25.7 kWh battery that allows for a range of over 120 kilometers.

The Superb iV utilizes the 1.5 TSI engine and the electric motor in the Electric and Hybrid configurations, in addition to the traditional Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sport, and Individual modes.

The battery of the plug-in hybrid Superb can be fully recharged from 0 to 100% in 2 hours and 30 minutes using a home wallbox or an AC charging point with a maximum power of 11 kW.

For fast charging, it supports up to 50 kW, allowing it to reach 80% charge in just 26 minutes. While driving, the battery is continuously recharged through regenerative braking, which converts kinetic energy during deceleration.

The new Superb iV will be available for order in international markets in the coming weeks, although the price for the domestic market has not yet been announced.
