Volkswagen, Audi e Porsche vão adotar a norma de carregamento elétrico da Tesla

Donald Trump, the newly inaugurated president of the USA, wasted no time in reversing the American electric mobility strategy by fulfilling the promise made during his electoral campaign to declare a “national energy emergency” and to overturn the requirement for a transition to 100% electric vehicles.

“With the decisions now made, we put an end to the ‘Green New Deal’ and revoked the requirement for a transition to electric vehicles, saving our automotive industry and keeping my promise to the workers of the American automotive sector,” Trump said during the speech.

In this way, the initiatives launched by the administration of former President Joe Biden to boost electric vehicle sales, including a financial plan that aimed to convert closed or at-risk automobile production and assembly plants into factories for producing 100% electric or hybrid vehicles, are now nullified.

Moreover, Biden also greenlit the ban on the sale of new gasoline cars in the state of California starting in 2035.

According to reports from Reuters, Donald Trump has already indicated that he intends to instruct the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to review the measures imposing stricter emission rules, which required automakers to sell between 30% to 56% of 100% electric vehicles by 2032 to comply with federal emission regulations.

With the end of the electrification strategy, the US is returning to fossil fuels, with Trump determined to strengthen oil extraction in order to reduce fuel prices for drivers in the US.
