Dacia announced this Thursday that the Sandero was the best-selling car in Europe in 2024, with a total of 309,392 units, thus dethroning the Tesla Model Y, the best-selling model in 2023.
In addition, the Sandero, which has been the best-selling car to individuals in Europe since 2017, achieved another milestone by becoming the first Dacia model to surpass sales of 300,000 units in a year.
Meanwhile, the Duster maintained its status as the most sold SUV to individuals in Europe, with 215,024 units sold in 2024, an increase of 7.3% compared to 2023.
Dacia also revealed that with the sales in 2024, the Duster surpassed 2.5 million units on the roads of Europe since its launch in 2010. The new generation of the Duster, launched in May 2024, recorded positive performance, particularly with the hybrid variant, which accounted for 29% of sales.
Globally, the Romanian brand of the Renault Group delivered a total of 676,430 cars in Europe in 2024, a growth of 2.7% compared to 2023.
Furthermore, 2024 marks a historic year for Dacia as it was the first year since 2004, the year it began operations, that it surpassed the milestone of 9 million vehicles sold.
The positive results for Dacia in Europe are attributed to double-digit growth in several countries, notably the Czech Republic with a growth of 20.2%, Italy with 16.3%, Belgium-Luxembourg with 15.4%, Austria with 13.2%, Spain with 12.4%, as well as Poland with 11.8% and Portugal with 10.7%.
“In 2024, Dacia once again demonstrated its ability to combine performance, robustness, and affordability. Our results show the increasing confidence of customers in our models and confirm that we must continue with our strategy,” said Denis Le Vot, General Director of Dacia.
