Pininfarina aprimorou aerodinâmica do futurista Apetra

The American company Aptera took advantage of its presence at CES in Las Vegas, USA, to showcase a pre-production version of its 100% electric three-wheeled model.

Initially revealed in 2021, the model now presented is an evolution of the original project, benefiting from the expertise of Pininfarina, which refined the aerodynamics of the three-wheeled model in the wind tunnel in Turin, Italy, resulting in a drag coefficient that Aptera claims is industry-leading.

In addition to a design that is, at the very least, surprising, the three-wheeled Aptera features a significant portion of its body covered by solar panels, leading the brand to claim that most drivers can use this three-wheeled model daily without needing to charge the battery.

The brand states that simply parking the model allows the solar panels to generate enough electricity for a range of 64 km. When fully charged, the 42 kWh battery promises a range of 644 km.

“Aptera has pushed the boundaries of what is possible in vehicle design and efficiency. We have always made aerodynamics an essential component of Pininfarina’s design. Therefore, we are excited to have supported the aerodynamic validation of the Aptera with truly unique results.”, said Giuseppe Bonollo, head of the mobility business unit at Pininfarina, during the presentation of the futuristic three-wheeled model in Las Vegas.

Aptera has not revealed the start date for the production of its 100% electric model, nor when the first deliveries will take place. It is worth noting that the American brand announced at the end of 2024 that it had 50,000 pre-orders for this three-wheeled model.
