Henk Lategan secured victory in stage 8 of the 2025 Dakar Rally this Monday, further solidifying his lead in the overall standings with just four days remaining in the competition.

Despite incurring a two-minute penalty, the Toyota driver delivered a commanding performance over the 487-kilometer timed section between Al Duwadimi and Riyadh. He finished 1m47s ahead of teammate Guy David Botterill. Following them were Century drivers Mathieu Serradori and Brian Baragwanath.

Nani Roma (Ford M-Sport) took fifth place, while Yazeed Al Rajhi (Overdrive Toyota) finished sixth, losing over five minutes in his battle for the overall victory.

With this win, Lategan extends his lead to 5m41s over Al Rajhi in the general classification. Mattias Ekström (Ford M-Sport) remains third, followed by Nasser Al-Attiyah (The Dacia Sandriders) in fourth. Mitchell Guthrie (Ford M-Sport) rounds out the top five, with a gap of less than three minutes separating him from Serradori.
