Tesla announced on Friday that it will be calling back about 239,000 vehicles in the U.S. due to a problem that may arise with the rearview camera, which may not display images. This situation, as revealed by Elon Musk’s company, can be resolved with a software update.
The issue affects the Model 3 and Model S from 2024-25, as well as the Model X and Model Y from 2023-25, the company stated, adding that Tesla will identify and repair the malfunction with the rearview cameras that exhibit failures due to this problem at no cost.
This “recall” now revealed by Tesla comes just days after the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced the opening of an investigation into 2.6 million Tesla vehicles due to the “Actually Smart Summon” system, which allows the driver to summon the car to their location within a range of about 65 meters or send the vehicle to a parking spot.
