The year 2024, which has now come to an end, can be described as quite complicated for the automotive sector. In the U.S., brands experienced hectic days with over 25 million vehicles recalled to address production issues.
Data revealed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) shows that Tesla was the brand that led in the number of vehicle recalls, being required to recall 5,135,697 units.
The American electric vehicle manufacturer issued 15 recalls throughout 2024, which, however, pales in comparison to the 72 recalls conducted by Stellantis in the U.S. across its 14 automotive brands and the 63 by Ford, which resulted in over 4 million vehicles being called back to dealerships.
