In a seismic shift in the world of NASCAR, rising star Chase Briscoe is set to step into the shoes of the legendary Martin Truex Jr., as he takes over the coveted No. 19 Toyota at Joe Gibbs Racing for the 2025 season. The 30-year-old Briscoe, who has been blazing a trail in motorsports, is all set to replace the retiring 2017 Cup Series champion, marking a new era for the racing giant.

Hailing from a family deeply rooted in racing history, Briscoe’s journey began on the dirt tracks of Mitchell, Indiana. With a grandfather who was a famed sprint car team owner and a father who was a sprint car ace with over 150 feature event wins, racing was in his blood. Despite initial resistance from his father, Briscoe began racing at the age of 13 and quickly made a name for himself, breaking records and showing immense promise.

Fast forward to 2024, and Briscoe’s career has been nothing short of spectacular. From winning the ARCA Menards Series championship to making his mark in the Xfinity Series with nine victories in 2020, Briscoe has consistently proven his mettle. His impressive performance in the Cup Series earned him Rookie of the Year honors in 2021 and his first Cup win at Phoenix Raceway in 2022. This year, he secured his spot in the playoffs with a win at the Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway, paying tribute to the team that nurtured his talent.

Replacing a veteran like Martin Truex Jr., who has had a stellar career with 17 victories under Furniture Row Racing and 15 with Joe Gibbs Racing, is no small feat. Truex’s retirement marks the end of an era, but Briscoe’s appointment is a testament to his potential and the faith that team owner Joe Gibbs has in him. Known for his unwavering spirit and determination, Briscoe’s transition to Toyota is eagerly anticipated by fans and pundits alike.

With the guidance of his old friend and new teammate Christopher Bell, Briscoe is poised to continue his upward trajectory in the world of motorsports. As he prepares to take on this new challenge, all eyes will be on how he fills the big shoes left by Truex and whether he can live up to the high expectations set by Joe Gibbs and the racing community.
