After a turbulent season with Jordan Anderson Racing, Parker Retzlaff is gearing up for a fresh start with Alpha Prime Racing, bringing his undeniable talent and renewed determination to the table. Despite notching seven top-10 finishes during his tenure in the #31 car, the 21-year-old faced numerous challenges that ultimately pushed him to make a bold move.

In an emotional reflection on his struggles at JAR, Retzlaff revealed unresolved issues that plagued the team for two consecutive seasons, resulting in lost potential and mounting frustration. Speaking candidly on the Bating and Banging YouTube channel, Retzlaff said:
“We had the same struggles in ‘24 that we had in ‘23. We didn’t fix the problem… It kind of just built into a big ball that got worse.”

This candid assessment highlights the tension behind the scenes, where funding shortfalls and team missteps created a difficult environment. Retzlaff’s former teammate Jeb Burton echoed this sentiment, but the young driver insists the issues extended beyond money. After enduring a season marked by 12 DNFs, it was clear that a change was necessary.

A New Dawn with Alpha Prime Racing

Retzlaff’s move to Alpha Prime Racing, where he will drive the #4 Chevrolet, offers a much-needed reset. Describing the transition as a “good change,” Retzlaff expressed optimism about the team’s supportive atmosphere:
“I think I am in a better spot now. Tommy [Joe Martins] and Caesar [Bacarella] have treated me well since the first meeting… It’s been a very good change.”

Teaming up with Brennan Poole, Retzlaff is ready to make his mark alongside an organization on the rise. Alpha Prime has been steadily building its reputation in the Xfinity Series, with its leadership emphasizing the importance of people and talent over sheer resources. Team owner Bacarella, brimming with excitement about Retzlaff’s potential, stated:
“He’s a young, really talented race car driver, and he’s going to help elevate the team.”

Overcoming Challenges and Building Momentum

The move to Alpha Prime Racing comes after a season filled with frustration and pivotal moments. One controversial incident at Daytona saw Retzlaff push a Ford, Harrison Burton, instead of assisting Chevrolet teammate Kyle Busch, a decision that sparked internal debate. Such moments compounded the pressure on the young driver, but Retzlaff has emerged stronger and more focused.

Alpha Prime Racing sees Retzlaff as a cornerstone for their future success, and the driver himself is eager to prove he belongs among the best in the series. Reflecting on his goals for the 2025 season, Retzlaff said:
“We all want to win races, be consistent, and prove we’re here to compete.”

A Bright Future Ahead

With a solid track record that includes three top-five finishes, 12 top-tens, and two pole positions in 75 Xfinity Series starts, Retzlaff is well-equipped to succeed. The pairing with Alpha Prime feels like the perfect storm of opportunity and potential. As the team owner Bacarella remarked:
“We’ve got great people, and that’s what’s made it work. And now we’ve got two ace drivers in the stable full-time.”

For Retzlaff, the move represents more than just a new chapter—it’s a chance to rise above the challenges that defined his past seasons and build a legacy of success. With the unwavering support of his new team and a renewed sense of purpose, Parker Retzlaff is poised to take 2025 by storm.

Can Retzlaff and Alpha Prime Racing find victory lane together? One thing’s for sure—the road ahead is filled with promise.
