After a groundbreaking debut season, High Limit Racing, the sprint car series co-founded by NASCAR star Kyle Larson and sprint car champion Brad Sweet, is poised to reshape the sport. Larson recently revealed that a merger with the iconic World of Outlaws series is a topic of discussion, though nothing is imminent.

“That’s at least a topic we’ve talked about,” Larson said. “Hopefully, whatever happens will be for the betterment of the sport.”

“A Breakthrough First Season”

Launched in 2024 by Larson, Sweet, and FloSports, High Limit Racing quickly made waves in the sprint car world. With a mission to elevate the sport, the series showcased premier events across various regions, drawing an average of 100,000 viewers per event and a total of 2.5 million aggregate viewers for the season on FloRacing.

The inaugural season also delivered strong competition, with Sweet clinching the championship and High Limit hosting two of FloRacing’s Top 10 most-watched events of the year. The series is backed by title sponsor Kubota and aims to professionalize sprint car racing, introducing innovative measures like earlier event end times and a charter system for teams.

“Coexisting with World of Outlaws”

While High Limit has carved out a unique space, Sweet insists the series isn’t looking to replace the World of Outlaws.

“This year showed you could have two different leagues competing without oversaturating markets,” Sweet said.

High Limit’s success has proven there’s room for both series to thrive, with fans embracing the excitement and variety offered by its events.

“Looking Ahead to 2025 and Beyond”

High Limit Racing has ambitious plans for 2025, with a 61-race schedule spanning 36 U.S. tracks and its first-ever international event in Australia. The focus remains on growing the sport and delivering thrilling experiences to fans.

“Fans could see how passionate we were, how great our shows ran, and how exciting our racing was—and those are the biggest elements to pleasing people,” Larson emphasized.

As talks of a potential merger with the World of Outlaws continue, the priority for both Larson and Sweet is ensuring the long-term health and growth of sprint car racing.

“Revolutionizing Sprint Car Racing”

High Limit Racing’s innovative approach, strong debut, and fan-focused philosophy have positioned it as a transformative force in the sport. Whether through continued coexistence or a future partnership with the World of Outlaws, High Limit Racing is pushing sprint car racing to new heights.
