Lotus has just unveiled an exclusive series of the Emira Limited, in homage to the brand’s historical past in Formula 1, as well as to the symbolic “12,” the famous initial number of driver Ayrton Senna during his years with the Lotus team.
This series, Emira Limited, features five legendary liveries used on Lotus’s F1 single-seaters and is limited to 12 units for each livery, available only in 12 European markets.
Each Emira from this series features special details, along with handcrafted finishes in Hethel, highlighted by plaques inscribed with “Emira Limited 1/12” on the B pillars and dashboard, as well as a certificate of authenticity.
The liveries of this Emira Limited series include a version inspired by the Lotus Type 99T, featuring a vibrant yellow with blue details that recalls the Formula 1 car with which Ayrton Senna successfully competed during the 1987 season.
The Emira, inspired by the Type 97T, is an elegant interpretation of the 1985 Formula 1 car in which Ayrton Senna secured his first victory in a Formula Grand Prix, which took place in Portugal, at Estoril.
This Emira is presented in a dark Shadow Grey color with iconic gold accents on the wheels of this Lotus supercar.
On the other hand, the Emira inspired by the Type 86, the single-seater that debuted in 1980 and revolutionized the F1 world with its double chassis, comes in a blue paint with red and silver stripes, reflecting the colors of Team Lotus’s sponsor at the time.
The Emira inspired by the Type 78 features a dark Shadow grey and gold paint scheme, and proudly displays the number 5 (the racing number of the Type 78 driven by Mario Andretti in 1977 and 1978).
This special series from Lotus is completed with the Emira inspired by the Type 25, one of the most important Formula 1 single-seaters of all time, which was driven by Jim Clark in 1963 and won 14 Grand Prix and achieved 18 podiums from 1962 to 1965.
With a body color in Dark Verdant Green featuring painted stripes in Hethel Yellow and black brake calipers, this decoration recalls the victorious season of the Type 25 in 1963. The interior in Black Alcantara with yellow stitching completes this competition-inspired design.
Although it is not available for the Portuguese market, Lotus has already revealed that each model of this special and limited series of the Emira starts at a price of €98,107.
