Lamborghini has made it clear that it does not plan to postpone its electrification strategy, unlike other brands; however, the house of Sant’Agata Bolognese will delay the launch of its first 100% electric model until 2029.

Initially, Lamborghini aimed for the arrival of the new model in 2028, but Stephan Winkelmann, the CEO of the Italian brand, has made it clear that it is not yet time for full electrification in the supercar segment.

“We do not consider 2029 to be late for having a 100% electric model. Furthermore, we do not believe the market will be ready for this step in 2025 or 2026”, said Winkelmann while speaking to journalists at Lamborghini’s headquarters in Sant’Agata Bolognese, northern Italy.

It is worth noting that Lamborghini’s current lineup consists of the Urus SUV, as well as the supercars Temerario and Revuelto, all equipped with hybrid engines, a paradigm shift that seems to have pleased the brand’s customers.

In addition, Lamborghini unveiled the Lanzador concept car in 2023, which anticipates the brand’s electric future. It features a high-power electric motor on each axle, ensuring permanent all-wheel drive in any conditions, surfaces, and driving styles, with a maximum power output of 1000 kW, which is over 1360 hp.
