The Audi factory in Brussels, Belgium, will close its doors on February 28, 2025, after failing in a new attempt to find a solution for the continuity of that production unit.
According to “Reuters,” which cites Audi spokesperson Peter D’hoore, the decision has already been made, and with the end of production of the Q8 e-tron, the factory will close, especially since the successor to the Q8 e-tron is expected to be produced in Mexico.
“The decision to close the Brussels factory is painful. Personally, it was the hardest decision I have ever had to make in my professional career”, said Audi’s production chief, Gerd Walker, in statements to “Reuters.”
The closure of the Audi factory in Brussels seemed likely after a company spokesperson revealed in November that the German brand had failed to find a buyer for that production unit.
It is worth noting that the Audi factory in Brussels employs 3,000 workers, who will continue to produce the Q8 e-tron until the closure of that unit.
