Antonio Fuoco Reflects on Abu Dhabi F1 Test: “A Valuable Experience”

Italian driver Antonio Fuoco shared his thoughts after completing a productive day of testing at Yas Marina Circuit, where he placed 23rd overall. The session marked an important opportunity for Fuoco to reacquaint himself with a current-generation Formula 1 car under conditions closely mirroring the recent Grand Prix.

“It was important for me to have the opportunity to get back behind the wheel of a current generation Formula 1 car, having driven the F1-75 a few weeks ago at Fiorano,” Fuoco explained.

The Abu Dhabi test held particular significance as it allowed Fuoco to draw comparisons under similar climatic and track conditions experienced during the Grand Prix weekend.

Focus on Simulator Correlation

As a key contributor to Ferrari’s simulator program, Fuoco highlighted the test’s role in enhancing car-to-simulator correlation.

“For me, spending so much time in the simulator, it was also useful to be able to work on correlation,” he said. “Tomorrow I will be back in Maranello where we will check some of the data from here.”

Fuoco’s involvement underscores the essential link between on-track testing and the extensive simulator work that aids Ferrari’s car development.

Looking Ahead to 2025

Despite the close of the 2024 season, Fuoco remains focused on Ferrari’s preparations for 2025, expressing enthusiasm for the team’s continued progress.

“After a short break for the Christmas holiday, I’m very enthusiastic about getting back to work on 2025, when we want to be even more competitive,” Fuoco concluded.

Ferrari’s Post-Season Push

Fuoco’s session in Abu Dhabi reflects Ferrari’s commitment to leveraging every available resource to close the gap on its rivals. His feedback and data will play a pivotal role in ensuring the Scuderia hits the ground running in 2025, as the team aims to further strengthen its position in the Formula 1 championship.
