Alain Prost, a four-time champion in Formula 1, asserts that his success in the sport has been undervalued.

Alain Prost, a legendary figure in the world of Formula 1, is widely regarded as one of the greatest drivers in the sport’s history. His career spanned from 1980 to 1993, and during his prime years, he posed a significant threat to his fellow competitors. This dominance allowed him to achieve an impressive feat of securing four world championships.

Despite his remarkable achievements, Prost believes that he has not received the recognition he deserves when compared to his contemporaries. Throughout his career, he raced for renowned teams such as Mclaren, Renault, Ferrari, and Williams. Prost accumulated a total of 199 starts, 41 fastest laps, and 106 podium finishes. Additionally, he achieved an outstanding 51 Grand Prix victories.

Although Prost ranks fifth on the all-time wins list in Formula 1, he still feels underrated. In a recent interview with Motorsport Magazine, the 68-year-old driver expressed his sentiments, stating that he believes his contributions have not been fully acknowledged.

Prost’s career was marked by an iconic rivalry with the late Ayrton Senna, a three-time world champion. Their intense competition captivated fans around the world, particularly during their time as teammates at McLaren-Honda in 1988 and 1989. Together, they secured an impressive 25 wins out of the 32 races held during those two seasons. Senna achieved 14 victories and 26 pole positions, while Prost claimed 11 wins and four pole positions. Each driver also won a world championship during their time as teammates.

The Prost-Senna rivalry continued when Prost joined Ferrari in 1990, and it remains one of the most memorable rivalries in Formula 1 history. Despite feeling underrated, Alain Prost’s illustrious career will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the greatest in the sport for decades to come.
