Lando Norris couldn’t contain his excitement after leading McLaren to a dominant front-row lockout at the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The Woking-based team continued their remarkable resurgence in 2024, securing their grip on the Constructors’ Championship with a dazzling performance under the Yas Marina lights.

“This is exactly how we wanted to end today,” Norris beamed. “A perfect day for us. It was a bit tougher than we expected, but that final lap was strong, and it feels incredible to finish the season’s last qualifying session this way.”

McLaren’s Youth Revolution Leaves Rivals in the Dust

McLaren’s bold investment in a young and dynamic driver lineup—led by Norris and rookie sensation Oscar Piastri—has paid off spectacularly. The team has surged past Red Bull and left Ferrari struggling in their wake. With a front-row lockout in Abu Dhabi, McLaren is poised to clinch the Constructors’ Championship in emphatic fashion, cementing their place as the dominant force of the 2024 season.

Ferrari, meanwhile, faced a weekend to forget. Charles Leclerc’s 10-place grid penalty and struggles in qualifying left the Italian squad licking their wounds as McLaren surged ahead.

Beating Ferrari ‘In Style’

For Norris, the mission in Abu Dhabi is crystal clear: win, and do it with flair. The Brit made no secret of his ambition to leave Ferrari trailing in McLaren’s dust one final time this season.

“We have to beat Ferrari—that’s the aim—but we want to do it in style,” Norris said. “We want to win, I want to win. I’ll give it everything I’ve got. The team has done an incredible job this year, and this is our moment to finish strong.”

Oscar Piastri echoed his teammate’s sentiments, showcasing his maturity and skill as he continues to shine in his debut season. Together, the duo has pushed McLaren to new heights, achieving multiple victories and podiums throughout the year.

A Season for the Ages

The 2024 Formula 1 season has been a high-octane rollercoaster, marked by fierce competition and a record number of race winners. McLaren’s turnaround story has been the highlight, with their innovative strategy, talented drivers, and sharp focus propelling them to the top of the standings. The team’s personnel will remain intact for 2025, ensuring continuity as they aim to build on this year’s success.

With Norris and Piastri starting from the front row and hungry to cap their season with a win, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix promises to be a spectacular finale. For McLaren fans, the wait for glory may finally be over.

The Final Showdown

Can McLaren seal their Constructors’ Championship with a dominant victory? Will Lando Norris deliver on his promise to beat Ferrari “in style”? The stage is set for an epic conclusion to one of the most exciting Formula 1 seasons in recent memory. Stay tuned—this is history in the making.
