Ford apresenta o Puma Gen-E 100% elétrico com autonomia até 376 km

Ford revealed this Tuesday the latest addition to its range of electric vehicles, the new 100% electric Puma Gen-E, equipping, for the first time, the brand’s European best-seller with zero emissions.

The electric Puma Gen-E is equipped with a single electric motor mounted on the front axle, producing 166 hp and 290 Nm of torque, allowing for acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 8 seconds. The electric motor is powered by a 43 kWh battery, which boasts a range of up to 376 km and up to 523 km in urban cycles.

In terms of charging, Ford announces that the Puma Gen-E’s battery can be charged at a 100kW DC fast charger, from 10 to 80 percent in about 23 minutes.

For those dealing with the hustle and bustle of cities or for young families, the Puma Gen-E offers even greater space efficiency, resulting from a compact electric drive unit. The innovative MegaBox storage space of the Puma has been enlarged to become a GigaBox, accommodating up to 574 liters of luggage space with the rear seats in their normal position, more than some larger SUVs can offer.

At the front, a frunk (front trunk) of 43 liters takes advantage of the space left empty by the gasoline engine, proving ideal for storing accessories that need to be more accessible when the rear trunk is full.

“The Puma embodies an undeniable success story, a model loved for its sporty design and features, combined with unique practicality and class-leading trunk capacity,” said Jon Williams, General Manager, Ford Blue and Model e, Europe.

Visually, Ford’s smallest electric SUV features a new front bumper with a closed grille and more elegant air intakes inspired by the Mustang Mach-E, along with exclusive alloy wheels and a slightly adjusted rear spoiler.

Inside, there are not many differences compared to the “normal” Puma, retaining the 12.8’’ digital instrument panel and the 12’’ infotainment system screen.

However, the 100% electric version is equipped with a raised center console that features a new storage compartment utilizing the space normally occupied by the gearbox.

Built at Ford Otosan’s state-of-the-art assembly plant in Craiova, Romania, using electric drive units produced at Ford’s facilities in Halewood, UK, the Puma Gen-E represents another step in Ford’s electrification strategy.

The brand also announced that the Puma Gen-E is now available for order, with the first deliveries set to begin in spring 2025.
