Max Verstappen has warned Red Bull Racing not to lose focus despite clinching the 2024 Formula 1 World Championship at the Las Vegas Grand Prix. The Dutch driver, now a four-time champion, is already eyeing a strong finish to the season and has urged his team to maintain their momentum through the final two races in Qatar and Abu Dhabi.

A Title to Remember

Verstappen’s triumph at the Las Vegas GP marked the culmination of a challenging but ultimately rewarding season for the reigning champion. Reflecting on his latest success, the 27-year-old described the title as a dream come true, emphasizing the significance of overcoming mid-season struggles.

“Winning the Championship was an incredible moment, and I’m so proud of what we have achieved as a team and of myself too. This win really means a lot to us, and being a four-time World Champion is something I never thought possible.”

Despite Red Bull’s early dominance in the season, Verstappen faced fierce competition from McLaren’s Lando Norris and Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, along with mid-season struggles for the RB20. Yet, Verstappen’s perseverance—and his team’s adaptability—proved decisive.

Adversity and Resilience

The 2024 season was far from smooth sailing for Verstappen. Red Bull’s performance slumped midway through the year, allowing rivals McLaren, Ferrari, and even Mercedes to close the gap. Verstappen highlighted these challenges, praising the team’s unwavering resolve during tough times.

“There were difficult moments, but we stuck together, never gave up, and came back stronger. This is what makes the season so special.”

Eyes on the Finish Line

While Verstappen has wrapped up the drivers’ championship, Red Bull still has work to do. The team is battling to reclaim second place in the constructors’ standings, a position currently held by Ferrari. Verstappen made it clear that his focus remains on delivering maximum points in the final two races.

“The season is not over yet. We still want to keep the momentum going and bring home as many points as we can for the team. So bring on the next two races.”

The Qatar GP and Abu Dhabi GP present Red Bull with opportunities to end the season on a high note. Verstappen is determined to prove why Red Bull remains a force to be reckoned with, even amid a season of intense competition.

A Hungry Champion

Verstappen’s words underline his unrelenting drive for success, even as he adds another championship to his already impressive legacy. With four titles under his belt at just 27 years old, Verstappen continues to raise the bar for excellence in Formula 1. As he sets his sights on closing the season with more victories, it’s clear that this champion isn’t resting on his laurels anytime soon.
