Frustrated Charles Leclerc Reflects on Fourth-Place Qualifying at Las Vegas GP – “I Didn’t Do a Good Job”

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc endured a frustrating qualifying session for the Las Vegas Grand Prix, securing a fourth-place grid slot behind Alpine’s Pierre Gasly. While the Monegasque acknowledged the SF-24’s potential this weekend, he admitted to struggling with tire performance, which hampered his pace during the critical moments of Q3.

“I Didn’t Do a Good Job” – Leclerc

Leclerc cut a visibly frustrated figure in post-qualifying interviews, blaming his inability to get the tires up to optimal temperature quickly enough, an issue that has plagued him all weekend.

“This weekend I never managed to get the tires up to temperature. Whether we did a prep lap or something else, it didn’t work. After 4-5 laps, we were fast, but obviously, you can’t do that in qualifying. I didn’t do a good job on that.”

Despite Ferrari showing strong pace in practice, Leclerc’s qualifying left him feeling like an opportunity had slipped through his fingers. His frustration was amplified by teammate Carlos Sainz’s stellar performance, securing second place just behind pole-sitter George Russell.

Sainz Optimistic About Race Day

Sainz, who missed pole by a narrow margin, struck a more confident tone after the session. The Spaniard expressed satisfaction with his qualifying effort and emphasized Ferrari’s focus on the race and the Constructors’ Championship battle with McLaren.

“So close! One of the trickiest Saturdays of the year and we did very well. I would’ve preferred to be on pole, but still a good position for the race, and I’m confident we can put on a fight. Maximizing points for the Constructors is key!”

Ferrari’s Chance to Close the Gap

With McLaren starting behind the Ferrari duo, the Italian team has a golden opportunity to gain valuable points in the Constructors’ Championship. Ferrari trails McLaren, but the gap is manageable, and strong performances from both Leclerc and Sainz could turn the tide in their favor.

The 50-lap Las Vegas GP promises to be a high-stakes battle, with tire degradation and strategic decisions likely to play a pivotal role. Ferrari’s pace in race simulations has been encouraging, and fans are hopeful the team can deliver a strong result.

Pop Icon’s Bet on Leclerc Adds Pressure

Adding a touch of intrigue, pop sensation Justin Bieber has reportedly placed a hefty bet on Leclerc to win the Las Vegas GP. While the odds may seem stacked against the Monegasque, the backing could serve as extra motivation for Leclerc to deliver a standout performance.

Looking Ahead

Ferrari’s mission is clear: capitalize on their strong starting positions to close the Constructors’ Championship gap to McLaren. With Leclerc eager to redeem himself and Sainz exuding confidence, the Scuderia is poised for an intense race under the dazzling lights of Las Vegas.
