Aston Martin’s Hypercar Dream Team Revealed: Tincknell and Riberas Ready to Conquer Le Mans in the Valkyrie AMR-LMH

Aston Martin is stepping into the hypercar era with bold ambition, announcing Harry Tincknell and Alex Riberas as the first two drivers for its 2025 FIA WEC Valkyrie AMR-LMH program. With a rich legacy in endurance racing and the iconic roar of a V12 engine, Aston Martin THOR is primed to reclaim its place at the pinnacle of motorsport.

The Return of a Le Mans Hero: Harry Tincknell

British racer Harry Tincknell’s return to the Aston Martin fold is a homecoming that feels almost poetic. A winner in the 2020 LMGTE Pro class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Aston Martin, Tincknell brings a wealth of experience from his stints with Proton Competition in the FIA WEC and Ford Performance in IMSA. He will pilot the No. 007 Valkyrie, aiming to etch his name into endurance racing history once again.

“This is a ‘pinch myself’ moment,” Tincknell said. “The Aston Martin Valkyrie is a dream machine—its V12 engine is unlike anything else in racing today. Having been part of its initial testing, I can say the DNA of this car is extraordinary. Winning Le Mans in 2020 with Aston Martin was unforgettable, and the goal now is to bring that glory back with the Valkyrie.”

Riberas Climbs to the Pinnacle of Racing

Spanish driver Alex Riberas, who has been a cornerstone of The Heart of Racing team for a decade, will take the wheel of the No. 009 Valkyrie. His promotion to the top class of the FIA WEC comes after a stellar season in both WEC LMGT3 and IMSA’s GTD Pro category, where he claimed multiple victories.

“To represent Aston Martin at the highest level of endurance racing is a dream come true,” Riberas said. “The Valkyrie is the most spectacular car I’ve ever driven—it’s not just a car, it’s a piece of art with an incredible sound that will captivate fans around the world. To continue my journey with The Heart of Racing while stepping into this new era is a huge honor.”

A Visionary Program with a Legendary Brand

The Valkyrie AMR-LMH program is not just a technical marvel but a statement of Aston Martin’s commitment to endurance racing. With its breathtaking design and high-revving V12 engine, the Valkyrie is poised to capture the imagination of motorsport fans globally.

Ian James, Aston Martin THOR team principal, praised Tincknell and Riberas for their dedication during the car’s development phase. “Both drivers have proven they possess the speed, patience, and team spirit needed to excel at this level,” James said. “This program is about returning the Aston Martin wings to the very top of endurance racing, and we couldn’t be more excited for the journey ahead.”

Looking Ahead to 2025

The 2025 season will be a defining moment for Aston Martin as it aims to challenge endurance racing’s elite with the Valkyrie AMR-LMH. With Tincknell and Riberas leading the charge, the stage is set for Aston Martin to write a new chapter in its storied history at iconic venues like Le Mans.

While the rest of the driver lineup is yet to be revealed, one thing is certain—the Valkyrie AMR-LMH program is poised to be a fan favorite, blending cutting-edge technology with the timeless allure of Aston Martin’s racing pedigree. The countdown to the green flag is on, and the motorsport world can’t wait to see the Valkyrie take flight.
