Norris Hints at Verstappen’s Aggressive Tactics, Calls for ‘Fair and Clean’ Racing Ahead of Brazilian GP

Formula 1 has long been a crucible of greatness, where legends are forged and champions are crowned. Among today’s drivers, few have shone as brightly as Lando Norris, who continues to cement his place as one of the sport’s most exciting and gifted talents. But when asked to name the greatest drivers of all time, Norris’s picks ignited fresh debate in the F1 community.

Speaking candidly, the McLaren ace didn’t delve into the archives of the sport, instead sticking to what he knows: Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. “I don’t know about the old guys. I didn’t witness any of them,” Norris admitted. “I have to go with the ones I know. That’s Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen.”

The Case for Hamilton and Verstappen

For Norris, the choice of Hamilton and Verstappen as his GOATs is hardly surprising. Hamilton, a seven-time world champion, has redefined success in the modern era, while Verstappen, the reigning champion, has smashed records and dominated recent seasons with ruthless efficiency. Together, they represent the pinnacle of F1’s current generation.

Fans, of course, were quick to compare Norris’s selections to the likes of Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher, whose brilliance transcends eras. Yet, Norris’s reasoning is clear: it’s about firsthand experience. “I didn’t see the old guys race,” Norris explained. “I’ve only seen what Lewis and Max can do, and they’ve been phenomenal.”

McLaren’s Championship Ambitions

While Norris fuels conversations about F1’s greatest drivers, his McLaren team is quietly orchestrating a resurgence that could see them challenge for titles in the near future. After finishing the 2024 Constructors’ Championship as front-runners but missing out on individual glory, McLaren is laser-focused on ensuring their rise continues.

Team boss Zak Brown is cautiously optimistic about their trajectory. “I can’t guarantee we’ll win this season, but we’re building a foundation to compete at the highest level in 2025, 2026, and 2027,” he stated. Brown is adamant that short-term success won’t come at the expense of long-term stability. “If I push too hard now, we risk destabilizing the team’s progress for years to come.”

2025: A Make-or-Break Season for McLaren?

As the 2025 season looms, anticipation is at an all-time high. With current regulations set to remain unchanged, next year promises to deliver more of the fierce, cutthroat racing that fans love. McLaren, now a serious contender, will be thrown into the fire against juggernauts like Red Bull and Mercedes.

For Norris, the stakes couldn’t be higher. After years of carrying McLaren through its rebuilding phase, he’s on the verge of finally competing for the ultimate prize. Alongside his yet-to-be-named teammate, Norris will need to bring his absolute best to face the heavy hitters of the grid.

F1’s Next Chapter

As the dust settles on the 2024 season, the stage is set for an explosive battle in 2025. Norris, with his natural talent and fiery determination, will undoubtedly be a central figure in McLaren’s campaign. But whether his bold assertions about Hamilton and Verstappen’s GOAT status hold up, only time—and more titles—will tell.
