Esteban Ocon Excited for New Chapter with Haas as Toyota Joins Forces in 2025

Esteban Ocon has voiced his excitement about joining Haas in 2025, especially with the American team’s recent partnership with Toyota. Last month, Haas announced a groundbreaking technical alliance with the Japanese automotive giant, giving them access to Toyota’s resources, including its renowned Cologne wind tunnel. This collaboration has further solidified Ocon’s confidence that he’s made the right move as he prepares to leave Alpine and begin a new journey with Haas.

While Ocon wasn’t aware of the Toyota partnership when he signed, he recalls being convinced by Haas’ Ayao Komatsu, who pitched a vision of taking the team to the next level. “Ayao convinced me with the plan he had,” Ocon shared. “He didn’t specifically talk about [Toyota], but he outlined his plan to elevate this team, and that was enough to reinforce my trust in what’s to come.”

Ocon will join Ferrari prospect Oliver Bearman at Haas in a revamped driver lineup. The team’s recent surge, achieving 46 points and seventh in the standings, demonstrates a positive trajectory, and Toyota’s involvement brings even more potential for growth.

Meanwhile, current Haas driver Kevin Magnussen, who will vacate his seat at the end of the season, acknowledged the partnership’s long-term potential for Haas. “I think it’s a longer-term thing, but it’s very positive for Haas,” he remarked. “If you know how small this operation is, it’s impressive what’s been achieved so far. There’s always been potential for more, and Toyota’s support is a step towards that.”

With Ocon and Bearman set to lead Haas into a new era bolstered by Toyota’s expertise, 2025 could mark the start of a transformative period for the American team, adding depth and strength to their operations.
