Ford Capri renasce como modelo 100% elétrico

The new 100% electric Ford Capri and the latest generation of the MG HS have just achieved the highest rating of five stars in another round of tests by Euro NCAP, the leading independent vehicle safety assessment program in Europe.

The Capri demonstrated high performance throughout the entire safety testing process, reflecting the active and passive safety technologies that equip the vehicle.

As a result, the Ford Capri received a rating of 89% for adult protection, 86% for child protection, an 80% rating for the protection of the most vulnerable road users, such as pedestrians and cyclists, while in the category of safety assistance systems, it scored 72%.

It is worth noting that the Ford Capri is available with both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions. The rear-wheel drive variant is equipped with a 286 hp engine and 545 Nm of maximum torque, powered by a 77 kWh NMC (nickel-manganese-cobalt) lithium-ion battery, allowing for a range of up to 627 km.

The charging can be done using alternating current of 11 kW, or through fast direct current (DC) charging of up to 135 kW. According to Ford, it is possible to charge the new Capri’s battery from 10 to 80% in 28 minutes at a fast charging station.

The all-wheel-drive version features two electric motors, one for each axle, allowing for a combined power of 340 hp. In addition to the two electric motors, there is a 79 kWh battery, which enables a claimed range of up to 592 km, an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds, and a top speed of 180 km/h.

On its part, the second generation of the MG HS also stood out for its higher score in adult protection, achieving 90%, while child protection reached a rating of 85% and the protection of the most vulnerable road users hit 83%. In the category of safety assistance systems, it received a score of 74%.

The new generation of the British brand’s compact SUV features a hybrid engine that combines a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with 142 hp with an electric motor of 180 hp, contributing to an estimated combined power of 300 hp. The electric motor is powered by a 24.7 kWh battery, which provides a range of up to 120 km in 100% electric mode.

The British brand also announced that the new generation of the HS is available with a 1.5 turbo gasoline engine, delivering 169 hp of power, a maximum torque of 275 Nm, and a 6-speed manual transmission, with an optional 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox.
