Formula 1 fans can rejoice as the iconic Monaco Grand Prix has secured its place on the F1 calendar until 2031, following a long-term agreement that extends the race’s historic legacy. Starting in 2026, Monaco’s race will shift from its traditional late-May slot to June, avoiding a clash with the prestigious Indianapolis 500 and optimizing F1’s logistics.

Stefano Domenicali, F1 President and CEO, celebrated the extension: “The streets of Monte Carlo are unique… and the Monaco Grand Prix remains a race that all drivers dream of winning. This agreement signals a new era of partnership and innovation between Formula 1 and Monaco, one that supports our journey to Net Zero by 2030.”

The renewal affirms Monaco’s role in F1’s evolving landscape, ensuring it will continue to be a pinnacle event through the next regulation era, set to begin in 2026. Monaco’s contract was initially set to expire at the end of 2025, sparking uncertainty over its future as F1 looked to diversify its calendar. However, with this extension, Monte Carlo will remain a consistent feature, balancing F1’s mix of historical and modern venues.

Michel Boeri, President of the Automobile Club of Monaco, expressed pride in the deal, noting the Monaco GP’s global appeal. “The signing of this new agreement… confirms the strength of our relationship and reaffirms our commitment to offering all visitors an unrivalled, first-class experience at race weekends.”

With this renewed commitment, Monaco will continue drawing hundreds of thousands of spectators to the Principality, alongside millions of viewers worldwide. As one of F1’s most glamorous and challenging circuits, Monte Carlo is poised to remain a crown jewel in the championship, now with a new date and a sustainable focus for the future.
