STLA Medium é uma referência em autonomia para a Stellantis

The new STLA Medium platform from Stellantis continues to be tested in terms of range and has now reached a new milestone in highway performance under real conditions.

The experience conducted with the new Peugeot E-3008 in the long-range version allowed for the verification of the platform’s capabilities, achieving 701 kilometers between charges.

The Peugeot E-3008 made a trip from Paris to Nice, a route of over 900 kilometers at an average temperature of 20º C. The French brand’s SUV completed the journey on the highway without exceeding 130 km/h, requiring only two stops to recharge its 96.9 kWh usable battery.

Stellantis stated that the performance of the new platform, “is comparable to that of a vehicle with an internal combustion engine, which makes stops for refueling and driver rest”.

However, the automotive group does not clarify the waiting time for each charge, nor whether the charging was done at the maximum power of 160 kW at superchargers, where in 27 minutes the Peugeot E-3008 can charge from 20% to 80%, or gain 150 km of range in just 10 minutes.

“Our goal has always been to create technologies that directly benefit our customers”, stated Ned Curic, Chief Engineering and Technology Officer of Stellantis. “The long-range capability of the STLA Medium platform makes it ideal for long-distance travel, without compromising the convenience and efficiency of a BEV. Drivers can now enjoy longer trips with fewer stops for charging, providing both performance and peace of mind.”

In addition to the main advantages of a battery electric vehicle (BEV) – zero tailpipe emissions, lower operating costs, and a quiet, smooth ride – the long-range versions allow for more extensive travel with fewer charging stops, thanks to the high-performance ACC batteries produced at Stellantis’s gigafactory in Billy-Berclau/Douvrin, in the French region of Hauts-de-France.

It is worth noting that the Peugeot E-3008, E-5008, and Opel Grandland Electric models are already built on the STLA Medium platform, with the launch of five more electric models based on this platform expected by the end of 2026.
