Jaguar’s Radical Transformation: A Luxury Brand Without Cars Until 2026

Jaguar is about to pull off one of the boldest moves in automotive history—going dark on production while it waits to launch an all-electric lineup. With the I-Pace and E-Pace ending production next month, and the F-Type, XE, and XF already discontinued, Jaguar’s iconic lineup is vanishing. By early 2025, even the F-Pace will be silent, leaving Jaguar with no vehicles on sale until at least mid-2026.

According to a report from Autocar, Jaguar’s CEO Adrian Mardell confirmed that their first new EV is still in testing and won’t hit the market until summer 2026. The brand’s complete reinvention will hinge on a yet-to-be-seen, high-performance electric sedan meant to rival the Porsche Taycan, with two SUVs to follow. This new lineup, built on the Jaguar Electrified Platform, is designed to position the brand higher up the luxury scale, competing with elite names like Bentley.

For now, Jaguar fans are left in suspense. The company will unveil a concept of its first EV in December, previewing its upmarket ambition. However, these electric vehicles won’t be budget-friendly. Jaguar’s shift towards high-end luxury comes amidst a challenging EV market, with declining demand and uncertainty in the U.S. likely adding pressure.

With no cars to sell until mid-2026, Jaguar’s gamble could either spark a luxury EV renaissance or risk obscuring a legendary brand in a highly competitive market.
