Lando Norris is feeling revitalized after a standout performance against his title rival, Max Verstappen, at the Mexican Grand Prix. The McLaren driver clinched a well-earned second place while Verstappen’s penalties relegated him to sixth, narrowing the points gap to 47 with four races left. For Norris, this result provides a major confidence boost as he pushes for his maiden Formula 1 world championship.

Reflecting on his strong finish in Mexico, Norris noted the importance of this podium during a grueling triple-header stretch. “It’s great to be going into the weekend following a P2 finish in Mexico,” he said. “It’s been a busy couple of weeks for us all with back-to-back races, so it’s nice to get a strong result in at the halfway point before we head to Brazil.”

Formula 1 now heads to Interlagos for the Brazilian GP, where the pressure will be on Norris to continue closing the gap to Verstappen. The São Paulo race is a Sprint weekend, offering additional points opportunities that could prove crucial in the title battle. Norris is looking forward to the passionate Brazilian fans and the chance to chip away at Verstappen’s lead. “The São Paulo Grand Prix is another fun weekend. The fans always make us feel welcome… It’s another Sprint weekend so there are more points on the table. Let’s go!”

Norris faces the challenging task of outscoring Verstappen by an average of 12 points per race to claim the championship. With the clock ticking, every result counts, and the Briton knows that consistency is key. If he can carry the momentum from his Mexico success into Brazil, Norris could take another step toward making McLaren’s title dreams a reality.
