Lando Norris made it clear that Max Verstappen’s aggressive move during the Mexican Grand Prix went beyond acceptable limits. The fierce title rivalry between the two drivers intensified once again as Verstappen received two 10-second penalties for pushing Norris off track in their battle for third place. Norris, who finished second, voiced his frustration, suggesting that Verstappen’s move was reckless and crossed a line in the eyes of both himself and the stewards.

“Things like today are just a bit too far, in my opinion, and obviously in the stewards’ opinion too,” Norris remarked. He added that most drivers, himself included, don’t see this aggressive style as fair racing. “I respect Max a lot; I want to race hard against him,” he explained, “but if I didn’t avoid him today, I’d probably be out of the race.”

The clash, which forced Verstappen down to sixth, has narrowed the points gap between the two title contenders to 47 points. Norris expressed satisfaction with how he handled the weekend, feeling that he “played his cards well” in a challenging scenario. With just four races remaining, the McLaren driver is focused on maximizing his points and keeping the pressure on Verstappen.

“It’s tough, but I played my cards well,” Norris reflected. “Points for me are good at the minute, and we’ll just keep our heads down.”

As the season approaches its conclusion, the stakes have only risen, with both drivers locked in an intense battle for the world title. Norris will need to consistently outscore Verstappen to claim his maiden championship, but Verstappen is unlikely to yield, setting up an electrifying showdown in the final races.
