Pit Crew Chaos! Legacy Motor Club’s Tire Blunder Sparks Suspensions as NASCAR Cracks Down

In a dramatic turn of events that sent shockwaves through the NASCAR world, two key pit crew members from Legacy Motor Club have been hit with suspensions following a costly error at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. John Rosselli, the front tire changer, and Kellen Mills, the jackman for Erik Jones’s No. 43 Toyota, have been sidelined for the next two Cup Series events after a wheel flew off Jones’s car just after a routine pit stop on lap 70.

This disastrous pit stop left Jones limping back to the pits and served a two-lap penalty during Sunday’s race, ultimately sealing his fate with a disappointing 25th-place finish. NASCAR’s unforgiving rulebook delivered an automatic two-week suspension to both crew members for their role in the wheel mishap. They will be eligible to return for the high-stakes season finale at Phoenix Raceway.

But that wasn’t the only fallout from NASCAR’s crackdown on pit lane errors. Three Xfinity Series teams were slapped with fines after a spate of lug nut infractions during Saturday’s race. Crew chiefs Jonathan Toney (Cole Custer), Shane Whitbeck (Jeb Burton), and Kevin Johnson (Kyle Sieg) were each handed a $5,000 fine for their respective violations, further highlighting the sport’s no-nonsense approach to safety and precision.

As NASCAR tightens the screws on pit crew errors, this latest round of penalties serves as a stark reminder that even the slightest slip-up in the heat of competition can have catastrophic consequences for teams vying for glory.
