Mini apresenta os novos JCW com motor a gasolina

After unveiling the first electric models bearing the John Cooper Works signature in its history, Mini has now introduced the models equipped with gasoline engines.

Available in hatchback and convertible formats, the new Mini JCW features a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine, which maintains the 231 hp of its predecessor and boasts a maximum torque of 380 Nm, which is an increase of 60 Nm.

The power is transferred to the pavement through a dual-clutch transmission with paddle shifters on the steering wheel, which the brand claims allows for quick gear changes for dynamic acceleration.

In this way, the Mini JCW boasts an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h. The convertible version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds and can reach a maximum speed of 245 km/h.

Aesthetically, the new Mini JCW stands out with its large octagonal grille in glossy black featuring the tricolor John Cooper Works logo and generous additional air intakes at the front with vertical red reflectors, as well as optional red or black stripes on the hood with a black Mini logo that accentuate the sporty design.

The LED headlights with specific JCW horizontal daytime running lights create a distinctive look. The rear is marked by an aerodynamic-shaped spoiler and a black rear diffuser. The centrally positioned exhaust further highlights the sporty spirit of this model. Also noteworthy are the new 17 and 18-inch wheels that complete the design of the new Mini JCW.

Mini also announced that there is a palette of eleven different exterior colors available, which can optionally be accented with a roof and mirror caps in Chili Red or Jetblack.

For the convertible variant, there is an exclusive exterior paint finish available in Copper Grey, and it can be equipped with a flexible roof in black or with a Union Jack pattern. The roof can be retracted in just 18 seconds at speeds of up to 30 km/h.

Inside, there are not many differences compared to the “normal” Mini, with standout features including sport seats with enhanced lumbar support, a sporty steering wheel, red and black details in the cabin with a checkered pattern, a 9.4’’ circular OLED central display for the infotainment system, and a premium Harman Kardon sound system.
