Mercedes Revamps 2025 Lineup with Power Boosts and New Features Across AMG and E-Class Models

Mercedes-Benz is making significant updates to its 2025 lineup in the U.S., bringing notable improvements to both performance and technology. Among the key highlights are upgrades to the AMG C-Class and SL models, a rear-wheel-drive option for the E-Class, and a continued expansion of their high-performance portfolio.

AMG C-Class Gets More Power and Tech Upgrades

Mercedes’ performance-focused AMG C-Class lineup is getting some early enhancements despite its relatively recent launch. The AMG C43 and C63 models now come equipped with the third generation of the MBUX infotainment system and a new center airbag between the front seats, improving both connectivity and safety.

The C43 receives a notable performance boost from its turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, which now delivers 416 horsepower—a 14 hp increase. Torque remains steady at 369 lb-ft, but the added horsepower shaves three-tenths off the 0-60 mph time, bringing it down to just 4.3 seconds.

Meanwhile, the more powerful C63 S will offer optional ceramic composite brakes, giving drivers enhanced stopping power. These upgrades ensure that Mercedes continues to cater to enthusiasts seeking a mix of performance and luxury in the compact sports sedan segment.

E-Class Introduces Rear-Wheel Drive Option

For fans of rear-wheel-drive dynamics, Mercedes is now offering the 2025 E-Class with an RWD configuration, specifically for the E350 model. This move places the E-Class in closer competition with the BMW 530i, as Audi’s A6 sticks exclusively to its Quattro all-wheel-drive system. The E350’s 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, delivering 255 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, propels the RWD variant from 0 to 60 mph in 6.1 seconds, matching the 4Matic version.

What sets the RWD E-Class apart, however, is the price. At $63,600, the rear-wheel-drive E350 is $2,500 cheaper than its all-wheel-drive counterpart, though still slightly more expensive than the BMW 530i.

AMG SL43 Gets a Major Power Boost

The AMG SL43, Mercedes’ entry-level roadster, has received a substantial performance upgrade. For the 2025 model year, its 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine now matches the output of the C43, producing 416 horsepower—a significant jump of 41 hp over the previous model. Torque has also been increased to 369 lb-ft, improving the 0-60 mph sprint time by two-tenths of a second to 4.6 seconds. This bump in performance makes the SL43 a serious contender in the luxury roadster market.

CLE 63 Waits in the Wings

While there were rumors circulating about the highly anticipated CLE 63 debuting for 2025, Mercedes fans will have to wait a bit longer. However, the CLE 53 Cabriolet is joining the lineup, powered by an inline-six engine, further expanding Mercedes’ high-performance offerings in the convertible segment.

CLA Stays for Another Year

Mercedes recently teased the next-generation CLA, but for now, the 2025 model year will continue with the outgoing version. While details on the forthcoming model remain scarce, fans can expect big changes in the future.

Looking Ahead

With these updates, Mercedes is clearly doubling down on performance, luxury, and technological enhancements for 2025. The upgrades across the AMG lineup and the addition of a rear-wheel-drive E-Class option show the brand’s commitment to staying competitive in key segments. Enthusiasts eagerly await the debut of new models like the CLE 63, which may signal the return of the iconic V-8 engine.

As Mercedes prepares for a busy 2025, the brand’s latest offerings ensure it remains at the forefront of luxury performance.
