CEO da Stellantis considera aumento das tarifas para veículos chineses como “grande armadilha”

Stellantis announced this Friday that the CEO, the Portuguese Carlos Tavares, will leave the group and retire in 2026.

The Portuguese executive had already indicated in October, during a visit to the historic Peugeot factory in Sochaux (eastern France), that he might retire in January 2026.

In a statement, Stellantis announced a series of changes in the upper management of the group with immediate effect. “To drive simplification and improve organizational performance in a globally turbulent environment, Stellantis announced today specific changes to its management team, effective immediately, under the leadership of CEO Carlos Tavares, aimed at refocusing the company on its key business priorities and addressing the global challenges facing the industry”, Stellantis stated in the announcement.

Thus, Antonio Filosa has been appointed Chief Operating Officer for North America, in addition to his role as CEO of the Jeep brand, succeeding Carlos Zarlenga, whose future position will be the subject of a new announcement.

Meanwhile, Jean-Philippe Imparato has been appointed Chief Operating Officer for Expanded Europe, in addition to his role as CEO of Pro One, succeeding Uwe Hochgeschurtz, who will leave the company.

The operations director in China, Doug Ostermann, has been appointed to the role of Chief Financial Officer, replacing Nathalie Knight, who will leave the group as a result of the Peugeot-Citroën and Fiat-Chrysler merger in 2021.

Gregoire Olivier is appointed Chief Operating Officer for China and continues to serve as the Liaison Officer with Leapmotor, leveraging his specialized knowledge and experience in the Chinese market.

For his part, Santo Ficili is appointed CEO of Maserati and Alfa Romeo and a member of the Top Executive Team, drawing on his extensive knowledge of the automotive sector and business operations. The next position of Davide Grasso will be announced later.

“During this Darwinian period for the automotive industry, our ethical duty and responsibility is to adapt and prepare for the future, better and faster than our competitors, to provide clean, safe, and accessible mobility. The newly appointed members of the leadership team will make their valuable contribution to our global team’s determination to face the challenges ahead, strengthening and accelerating our transformation to become the preferred mobility technology company. I want to thank everyone who contributed to laying the foundations for Stellantis’s future success.”, stated Carlos Tavares.
