Andretti Formula E has made headlines with its bold driver selection for the FIA Formula E female test, announcing that talented racers Nerea Marti and Chloe Chambers will represent the team at the upcoming event. This groundbreaking test, set for November 7 at the iconic Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, marks the first time an FIA series has dedicated a session exclusively to female drivers.

Marti and Chambers, both proven winners from the F1 Academy, are set to take the reins of the Andretti Porsche 99X Electric Formula E car, demonstrating the team’s commitment to developing female talent. With teams required to field at least one female driver and encouraged to include two, Andretti is leading the charge by giving two racers this remarkable opportunity.

Chloe Chambers expressed her excitement, stating, “It’s an honor to join the Andretti Formula E team. This will be my first experience in electric racing, and I’m eager to learn from some of the best in the business. As an American, it’s particularly thrilling to work with such an iconic name in motorsport.” She also thanked F1 Academy, A14 Management, and Monoflo International for their support, promising to give her all during the test.

Meanwhile, Nerea Marti, who will also be making her Formula E debut, is eager to prove her mettle on home turf. “Racing a Formula E car in my hometown at Circuit Ricardo Tormo is a dream come true. Formula E is the future of racing, and I’m excited to soak up every bit of knowledge and showcase what I’m capable of for the Andretti team,” said Marti, reflecting on her journey and the significance of competing in such an innovative series.

Andretti Formula E Team Principal, Roger Griffiths, emphasized the team’s long-standing dedication to promoting women in motorsport. “We’re thrilled to have Chloe and Nerea represent us in this all-women test. Both have shown their talent and consistency in F1 Academy, and we’re excited to see how they perform with the Andretti Porsche 99X Electric. As a team that has previously run a female driver for a full season, we are proud to continue leading the way in supporting women in motorsport.”

Currently, Chloe Chambers races for Haas and holds fourth place in the F1 Academy standings, while Tommy Hilfiger-backed Nerea Marti is close behind in fifth. The test not only offers them a platform to showcase their skills but also symbolizes Andretti’s dedication to building upon their legacy and continuing their impact across motorsport. As the team aims to build on its fifth-place finish in the FE Season 10 Teams’ Championship, all eyes are on Chambers and Marti to see if they can seize this moment and accelerate the future of women in Formula E racing.
