Charles Leclerc on Hamilton’s Move to Ferrari: “He Doesn’t Need My Advice”

Charles Leclerc is eagerly anticipating the arrival of Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari in 2025 but admits the seven-time world champion won’t be needing any advice from him. The Monegasque driver, who has led Ferrari in recent years, believes that Hamilton’s wealth of experience and success in Formula 1 speaks for itself, making him one of the strongest and most consistent drivers on the grid.

Hamilton, who will join Leclerc at Ferrari, has already defied expectations by securing two race wins in the 2024 season, despite McLaren’s dominant form. Leclerc has expressed admiration for Hamilton’s achievements, noting how the Briton’s career has been marked by incredible speed, consistency, and a near-complete absence of weaknesses.

“I will be super curious to see what he has done right throughout his career to achieve the success he has. He has very few weaknesses—well, actually, I don’t know any weaknesses of Lewis. He’s super strong, always fast, always there, and super consistent,” Leclerc said.

A Formidable Ferrari Duo: Leclerc and Hamilton

With Hamilton joining Ferrari, the Scuderia is hoping to return to its championship-winning glory, and a Leclerc-Hamilton pairing could be just what Maranello needs. Both drivers are dominant in their own right, and Leclerc believes that Ferrari could rise to the top with their combined talents.

Leclerc is also looking forward to learning from Hamilton and testing his own abilities against one of the greatest drivers in F1 history. “It will be super interesting for me to learn from Lewis, as much as showing what I am capable of in the same car as Lewis. These two things motivate me a lot,” Leclerc remarked.

However, he humbly acknowledged that Hamilton, even at 39, remains incredibly fast and doesn’t require advice from a younger teammate. “Lewis is still incredibly fast. He is still Lewis Hamilton. So, I don’t think he needs any advice from me!” he added.

Ferrari’s Championship Hopes

Ferrari’s current performance trajectory might offer Hamilton an advantage when he joins the team. The Italian squad has been making steady progress, and Leclerc believes the team will provide Hamilton with the tools necessary to compete for a championship. With Leclerc and Hamilton pushing each other, Ferrari is poised to challenge for titles in the coming seasons, and the team has great hopes of ending their championship drought under Hamilton’s leadership on the track.

The combination of Hamilton’s experience and Leclerc’s hunger could lead to monumental success for Ferrari, with both drivers looking to make history together.
