Alpine A290 vai “calçar” pneus desenvolvidos pela Michelin

Alpine announced this Monday that the new Hypertech, the brand’s cutting-edge engineering center, will bring together some of the best talents in the world to contribute to the development of ultra-high-performance vehicles and innovations in advanced technologies for Alpine and the Renault Group, and it will begin operations at the end of 2024.

The French brand has no doubt that the new center located in Viry-Châtillon will accelerate the development of the future model of the Alpine range.

Thus, the new center will be responsible for the short- and medium-term development of the batteries for the brand’s sports cars. Additionally, in the long term, these teams will also engage in advanced research and development activities on ultra-high energy density cell chemistry, particularly with solid-state battery technology, under extreme operating conditions for Supercar-type applications.

Hypertech Alpine will also carry out activities to develop new electric motor technologies in collaboration with Ampere, to prepare for the technological advancements expected in the next generation of electric vehicles.

“The creation of this Hypertech Alpine center is essential for Alpine’s development strategy and, more broadly, for the Group’s innovation strategy. It represents a turning point in the history of the Viry-Châtillon unit, ensuring the continuity of a ‘know-how’ and the inclusion of its rare skills in the ambitious future of the Group, while simultaneously reinforcing Alpine’s position as the ‘innovation garage’”. Its competitive DNA continues to be a cornerstone of the brand. It will continue to fuel an unprecedented industrial and automotive project, thanks in particular to Hypertech Alpine,” said Philippe Krief, CEO of Alpine.

Regarding Formula 1, the new direction of Viry-Châtillon, following the announcement of the end of the power unit development project, now focuses on creating a control unit aimed at “maintaining the knowledge and skills of workers in this sport and staying at the forefront of innovation in the various projects of Hypertech Alpine”, emphasizes the brand’s statement.

Thus, “Formula 1 activities in Viry, excluding the development of a new engine, will continue until the end of the 2025 season”, concludes Alpine’s note.
