Charles Leclerc – ” To challenge for the Drivers’ title, we need everything to click perfectly ”

Daniel Ricciardo’s departure from Formula 1 marks the end of an illustrious 13-year career, spanning 257 Grands Prix filled with spectacular wins, thrilling overtakes, and an infectious personality that made him a fan favorite. As the news of Ricciardo’s exit from VCARB became official, tributes from the F1 community, including fellow drivers and teams, poured in, celebrating the legacy of one of the sport’s most charismatic figures.

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc led the chorus of tributes with a heartfelt message on his Instagram story, honoring Ricciardo’s contributions to the sport and lamenting his absence from the paddock. “The one and only Daniel Ricciardo. You will be missed in the paddock mate. Good luck with everything,” Leclerc wrote, reflecting the widespread sentiment that Ricciardo’s vibrant presence will be sorely missed.

Ricciardo’s career has been nothing short of remarkable, with eight Grand Prix victories, 32 podiums, three pole positions, and 17 fastest laps to his name. Known for his late braking heroics and his trademark “shoey” celebrations, Ricciardo’s departure marks the end of an era for a driver who brought flair and excitement to every race weekend.

VCARB and Red Bull also paid tribute to their departing star, with the team praising Ricciardo’s professionalism and ever-present smile. “Everyone here at VCARB would like to thank Daniel for his hard work across the last two seasons with us. Daniel has been a true gentleman both on and off the track and never without that smile. He will be missed but will always hold a special place within the Red Bull family,” read a post shared by the team.

Ricciardo joined the Red Bull junior team last year, stepping in as a replacement during a tumultuous period, but struggled to regain his former glory. Despite his challenges, Ricciardo’s ability to connect with fans and his fellow drivers remained undiminished, making his exit an emotional moment for all.

While his final stint with VCARB did not yield the results he hoped for, Ricciardo’s legacy in F1 is cemented. With 1329 career points, Ricciardo has left an indelible mark on the sport, not just through his stats, but through his larger-than-life personality and unwavering sportsmanship.

As Ricciardo steps away from the pinnacle of motorsport, the F1 community is left to celebrate the memories of a driver who always raced with a smile and gave everything to the sport he loves. His absence will undoubtedly be felt from the next race in Austin onwards, but his impact on Formula 1 will endure for years to come.
