McLaren Backs Lando Norris in Title Chase, But Norris Rejects “Easy” Championship Win

Lando Norris, who trails Max Verstappen by 52 points in the championship, downplayed expectations of an easy fight to the finish as he addressed the intense competition heading into the final races of the season. When asked if he expects the championship battle to go down to the wire, the McLaren driver was clear: nothing is guaranteed.

“We have no idea, mate. I can’t tell the future,” Norris responded. “I’m working as hard as I can, and I’m sure Red Bull and Max are doing the same. We’re all pushing until the end of the year, and the best we can do is try to score the most points possible and aim for wins.”

Norris acknowledged the immense challenge he faces, describing the Red Bull and Verstappen duo as “the most dominant pairing you’ve ever seen in Formula 1” due to their incredible consistency and performance. He credited his own team for their recent success, highlighting McLaren’s innovative approach and strategic brilliance.

“We’re up against the toughest competition that Formula 1 has ever seen. My car might be quicker at the moment, but that’s just credit to our team doing amazing things,” Norris said, referring to McLaren’s technical innovations like the mini DRS flaps that have given them an edge.

The British driver knows the battle is far from over and that it will require relentless effort to close the points gap. “I’m working my heart out, my butt off, to make sure we’re in this fight,” Norris added. “Max is trying to make sure it doesn’t happen, so we’ll just have to wait and see how it all unfolds.”

As the season approaches its final stages, the championship fight remains wide open, with both drivers determined to push to the limit in their quest for glory.
