McLaren Unveils Striking “Legend Reborn” Livery for Singapore GP, Honoring F1 Heritage

McLaren has revealed a stunning one-off livery for this weekend’s Singapore Grand Prix, celebrating the team’s iconic Formula 1 heritage. In collaboration with unchain technology company OKX, the Woking-based squad has launched a design named “Legend Reborn,” which pays tribute to the legendary MP4 era when McLaren was at its peak, dominating the sport from 1981 to 1996.

The new livery blends McLaren’s current papaya colors with the classic red-and-white design famously associated with Marlboro sponsorship, creating a nostalgic nod to a period that saw racing legends like Ayrton Senna, Alain Prost, and Niki Lauda claim victory in McLaren’s MP4 cars. The livery, described as one of the most recognizable in F1 history, features the names of 13 iconic drivers from that golden era integrated into the cockpit, further honoring the team’s storied past.

Louise McEwen, McLaren Racing’s Chief Marketing Officer, expressed excitement over the tribute: “It is fantastic to bring back our third bespoke livery in Singapore with OKX. Legend Reborn is a great way to celebrate and honor our iconic history, in a way that unites fans old and new. Following on from this year’s Senna campaign, this livery further embodies our partnership with OKX as we continue to deliver unique storytelling campaigns for McLaren fans and OKX customers globally.”

This is not the first time McLaren has turned to its illustrious history for inspiration this season. Earlier this year, the team unveiled a special “McLaren SENNA presented by OKX” livery at the Monaco Grand Prix, which featured the colors of Ayrton Senna’s famous helmet, celebrating the life and achievements of the legendary Brazilian driver.

McLaren is not the only team embracing special liveries for the Singapore GP. Mercedes has introduced a green-themed design to celebrate its long-term partnership with Petronas, while Red Bull has rolled out a denim-inspired look in collaboration with fashion sponsor Hugo.

With McLaren’s “Legend Reborn” livery, the team not only pays homage to its rich heritage but also offers a unique visual treat for fans, blending the past with the present in a spectacular celebration of motorsport history.
