F1 Confirms 2025 Pre-Season Testing in Bahrain, Season to Kick Off in Melbourne

Formula 1 and the FIA have officially announced that the Bahrain International Circuit will host the 2025 Aramco Pre-Season Testing from February 26 to 28. The testing sessions will come just ahead of the highly anticipated 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship season, which is set to begin in Melbourne, Australia, from March 14 to 16.

Bahrain has become a familiar testing ground for F1 teams, having hosted pre-season testing six times since 2009. The circuit, known for its reliable weather, challenging high- and low-speed corners, and two long straights, provides ideal conditions for teams to gather crucial data on their cars ahead of the competitive season. The 5.41-kilometer track has seen legendary performances from current drivers like Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso, Max Verstappen, and Charles Leclerc.

In 2025, Formula 1 celebrates its 75th anniversary, with Bahrain playing a key role in the lead-up to the season’s launch in Melbourne. The F1 calendar will begin in Australia before heading to China and Japan, with Bahrain returning for round four from April 11 to 13 for the FORMULA 1 BAHRAIN GRAND PRIX 2025.

The statement also emphasized F1’s ongoing commitment to sustainability. With the sport aiming to become Net Zero by 2030, a substantial portion of freight will remain in Bahrain after testing, minimizing transportation for when the championship returns to the Gulf state.

Additionally, the 2025 season will include six sprint races, continuing the format’s growing presence within the F1 schedule.

As Formula 1 enters its milestone 75th year, all eyes will be on how teams perform during the critical pre-season testing sessions at Bahrain, setting the tone for what promises to be another thrilling season of racing.
