Xpeng G6 recebe cinco estrelas do Euro NCAP

The 100% electric G6 SUV coupe from the Chinese company Xpeng has achieved the highest rating of five stars in yet another round of tests by Euro NCAP, the leading independent vehicle safety assessment program in Europe.

This marks the third five-star rating for Xpeng’s international model, with the new generation of the G6 showing high performance throughout the entire safety testing process, reflecting the active and passive safety technologies that equip the vehicle.

Thus, the new generation of the G6 achieved its best result in the adult occupant protection category, with a rating of 89%, while in child protection it received a rating of 85%, and in protecting the most vulnerable road users, the evaluation was 81%. However, in terms of assistance and safety systems, it only obtained 75%.

It should be noted that the new generation of the Xpeng G6 is driven by intelligent engineering and production, featuring a torsional rigidity of 41,600Nm/deg and utilizing pioneering integrated casting technology. This innovation achieves an 83% increase in rigidity compared to traditional internal combustion vehicle production, integrating over 300 components from internal combustion vehicle production designs into two integrated structures, enhancing impact resistance and improving weight management.

In Portugal, the Chinese brand is represented by Salvador Cateano Auto, and the first Xpeng models are set to arrive in the national market by the end of the year.
