The next 100% electric model from Kia, the EV3, is set to launch in November this year and is currently touring Portugal until the end of October, as part of a roadshow that will visit the brand’s dealerships across the country.

However, the national presentation of Kia’s new 100% electric model took place last weekend at the Caramulo Motorfestival.

The new compact SUV from the South Korean brand, like Kia’s other electric models, was developed based on the E-GMP platform, and measures 4.30 meters in length, 1.85 meters in width, 1.56 meters in height, with a wheelbase of 2.68 meters.

The EV3 features a front section characterized by vertical headlights positioned at the ends of a clean surface, contributing to a wide and ultra-confident stance.

The visual impression is one of great volume, combined with distinctive graphic elements and a muscular appearance that harmonizes with the entire body. A new and robust interpretation of Kia’s iconic “Tiger Face” design includes the “Star Map,” the brand’s latest light signature. The vertically arranged daytime running lights (DRL) further enhance this design.

In profile, the new 100% electric model stands out with doors featuring extremely clean surfaces, despite the decorative motif on the sill, along with square wheel arches.

At the rear, the wide black trim highlights the connection between the robust design of the C-pillar and the roofline, emphasizing a sense of visual strength. The taillights, on the other hand, feature a simplified and geometric design, integrating seamlessly with the sloped rear window.

Inside, the spacious cabin comfortably accommodates five people, creating an environment similar to a living room, designed to be enjoyed during travel and while charging.

The EV3 is equipped with a nearly 30-inch display, which includes a 12.3-inch instrument panel, a 5-inch climate control screen, and a 12.3-inch infotainment system display. This large screen extends across the center of the dashboard, giving the front passenger access to entertainment and navigation features.

In terms of storage, the EV3 offers a trunk with a capacity of 460 liters, which can expand to 1200 liters with the rear seats folded down. In the front, under the hood, there is a storage space with a capacity of 25 liters.

Regarding the engine, the EV3 comes with a synchronous permanent magnet motor capable of delivering 204 hp of power and 283 Nm of maximum torque. In the base version, Drive, it is powered by a 58.3 kWh battery that allows for a range of up to 430 km. The Tech and GT-Line variants use a larger 81 kWh battery that claims a range of up to 600 km.

The Kia EV3 will arrive on the national market in November with prices starting at €39,500 for the Drive version, €44,500 for the Tech variant, and €47,500 for the GT-Line version.
