Teddy Bridgewater, the former NFL quarterback, has officially retired from professional football after a nine-season career. Although he was never considered an elite quarterback, Bridgewater spent two seasons as a backup for the New Orleans Saints, where he had the opportunity to start five games in 2019 due to Drew Brees’ injury. Now, Bridgewater is embarking on a new journey as the head coach at Miami Northwestern Senior High School, his alma mater. The New Orleans Saints took to Twitter to wish him luck in his new role and express their support for his transition. Bridgewater was the 32nd overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft and had a promising start to his career, earning a Pro Bowl selection in his second season. However, a torn ACL in 2016 derailed his progress, and he struggled to regain his previous form. In recent years, Bridgewater played for the Carolina Panthers, the Denver Broncos, and the Detroit Lions before deciding to retire. Now, he aims to impart his football knowledge and experience to the next generation of players in South Florida.
