Sergio Perez: No more inquiries about what’s to come

Sergio Perez has acknowledged that Red Bull Racing faced significant challenges at the Dutch Grand Prix, where they found themselves over 22 seconds adrift of the front-runners. Despite securing valuable points, the team’s performance fell noticeably short, particularly in comparison to their rivals. However, Perez remains optimistic as the team heads to Monza, confident that the lessons learned in Zandvoort will fuel their bid for victory at the Italian Grand Prix.

Reflecting on the difficulties encountered in Zandvoort, Perez admitted that Red Bull struggled to extract the full potential from their car. The Mexican driver highlighted that the experience, while frustrating, provided crucial insights into how their car behaves under various conditions. These insights, according to Perez, are key to unlocking better performance in the upcoming race at Monza.

Perez explained that during the Dutch GP, Red Bull experimented with different setups across both cars, gathering a wealth of data in the process. This data, he believes, will be instrumental in refining their approach not only for Monza but for the remainder of the season. Perez emphasized that the team is now better equipped to make informed decisions on car setup, which could be the difference-maker in such a competitive season.

“At Zandvoort, we struggled to maximize our performance,” Perez said. “But we learned some important lessons about the car, lessons we can take to Monza.”

Perez also recognized the significant progress made by McLaren, who have emerged as the strongest competitors on the grid following their impressive upgrades. Acknowledging the time gap at Zandvoort, Perez noted that Red Bull must intensify their efforts to stay ahead in both the Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championships. The team is acutely aware that maintaining their lead will require relentless development and a focus on continuous improvement.

“McLaren have obviously taken a huge step forward in their development,” Perez stated. “We know we need to work harder than ever to keep our lead.”

As Red Bull heads to Monza, Perez is determined that the team will apply the lessons learned from their Zandvoort experience. Fans and analysts alike are eager to see how Red Bull will respond to the challenges posed by their rivals, with hopes high that the necessary adjustments will lead to a strong performance in Italy.
