BYD Seal e Dolphin passam com distinção nos testes de segurança da Euro NCAP

The new Seal sedan, from the D segment, and the Dolphin hatchback, from the C segment, two 100% electric models from BYD, have just achieved the maximum five-star rating in another battery of tests by Euro NCAP, the main independent vehicle safety assessment program in Europe.

The Seal performed highly throughout the entire safety testing process, reflecting the active and passive safety technologies that equip the vehicle, as well as the structural benefits of BYD’s CTB (Cell to Body) technology.

Thus, the Seal obtained a rating of 89% in adult protection, 87% in child protection, an 82% rating in the protection of the most vulnerable road users, such as pedestrians and cyclists, while in the safety assistance systems category it obtained a rating of 76%.

The Dolphin, which has just arrived in the national market, also stood out for its higher score in adult protection, with 89%, while child protection achieved a rating of 87% and protection of the most vulnerable road users reached 85%. In the safety assistance systems category, the Dolphin obtained a rating of 79%.

It should be noted that the Dolphin is available in the national market in the Active, Boost, Comfort, and Design versions. The entry-level Active variant is equipped with a 95 hp engine (maximum speed of 150 km/h), powered by a 44.9 kWh capacity battery, capable of offering a range of up to 340 km, and capable of receiving alternating current charging up to 7 kW, and fast direct current charging up to 60 kW.

The Dolphin Boost, on the other hand, is equipped with a 176 hp engine (maximum speed of 160 km/h), combined with the same 44.9 kWh battery, for a range of up to 310 km.

On the other hand, the more equipped variants have a 60.4 kWh capacity battery, capable of recovering 80% of the charge in 29 minutes at a fast charging station at 88 kW, and capable of receiving alternating current charging at 11 kW.
