Lando Norris may have staged a difficult and unlikely recovery from 17th on the starting grid to a final fifth place in the Formula 1 Mexican Grand Prix, but that didn’t make him happy. This result marked the end of a streak of podium finishes, compromising his fight for the top five in the championship.

The British driver justified his disappointment, as quoted on RacingNews365.com: ‘People complain and ask why I’m always so disappointed. It’s because of days like this race. Of course, I’m going to be disappointed. There’s a chance to end up on the podium, receive another trophy, and score more points. Why would I be happy with a day like this?’.

Qualifying in Mexico was particularly disappointing for Norris: ‘We put a lot of focus on the race, that was evident and rewarded, but I’ll never be content after a day like Saturday, right? Because I know what we’re capable of. Whenever you have a day like the race, you think about what could have happened. There’s too much “what could have been at that moment,” so I just need to sort a few things out, and things can start rolling.’
