The Formula 1 São Paulo Grand Prix ended yesterday with the main race at Interlagos, in which Max Verstappen secured another victory and further extended his lead in the championship.

In the Brazilian round, the Red Bull driver – already champion since Qatar – surpassed the milestone of half a thousand points. He now has 524 points, compared to Sergio Pérez’s 258 points, who is in second place. The Mexican gained some breathing space in the pursuit of Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), now having a 32-point advantage.

Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) returned to the podium and is in fourth place, now 28 points behind Hamilton and with a three-point margin over Lando Norris. The McLaren British driver reached the top five in the championship, being three points ahead of Carlos Sainz (Ferrari). With the retirement, Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) is in seventh place, 22 points behind his teammate.

In the constructors’ championship, Red Bull reached 782 points, exactly 400 more than Mercedes. The Germans, in turn, saw the margin against Ferrari narrow in the fight for second place, with the two teams separated by only 20 points. McLaren lost ground to Aston Martin but remains in fourth place – now 21 points ahead of the Silverstone team.

Alpine, in eighth place, is already far from this fight, with 108 points compared to Aston Martin’s 261. Behind them, the French team has Williams with 28 points – seven more than AlphaTauri, which is fighting to escape last place along with Alfa Romeo and Haas. The three teams are separated by nine points.
