Novo MINI John Cooper Works Countryman: estética apurada e 300 cv

The Mini presented the third generation of the Countryman John Cooper Works (JCW), the sportiest variant of the range that features a redesigned aesthetic, despite maintaining the characteristic style of a model that remains truly unique, going against the electrification trend pursued by the British brand.

In this way, the new Mini Countryman JCW uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline four-cylinder engine, which delivers 300 hp of power and 400 Nm of maximum torque, allowing it to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds, and reach a top speed of 250 km/h.

The new generation of the Countryman JCW no longer features a manual gearbox, and therefore the power is sent to all four wheels, which are managed by MINI’s ALL4 system, through an 8-speed automatic transmission.

To contribute to the sporty performance of this model, there are also wider tires, now measuring 710 mm, which is 300 mm wider than the previous generation, mounted on 19” or 20” wheels, as well as a high-performance braking system with Chili Red brake calipers.

In terms of design, highlights include a new octagonal front grille with glossy black finishes and LED headlights on each side, along with a more aggressive bumper, a new JCW logo in three colors, and a set of model-specific details that enhance its overall appearance. For example, the aerodynamic elements with vertical reflectors at the front of the car that emphasize its stance, a more generous rear spoiler, and four exhaust outlets.

In the minimalist interior, a round OLED screen stands out, inspired by the original MINI, located in the center of the dashboard, which features black and red finishing and a recycled polyester coating.

The central screen allows access to Mini Experience modes, namely the Go-Kart mode, which when activated reflects the track spirit, amplifying the engine noise, while the screen frame presents exclusive colors. In addition, the sport seats of this version feature integrated headrests.

Note that the rear seats can be adjusted longitudinally up to 13 cm. The trunk has a capacity of 460 liters, which can reach 1,530 liters with the rear seats folded down.

Mini has already announced that the first units of the new Countryman JCW will only arrive in the national market in the first quarter of 2024.
